I have had the privilege of emceeing events for almost 20 years since I got my unlikely start at the Ford New York City Triathlon. The primary announcer was delayed at the start on the Hudson River and I was responsible for the Finish Line. I received a call from the Race Director, Bill Burke, who told me to "pick up the microphone and entertain the crowd" as the leader was only a few miles from the finish. With thousands of onlookers in Central Park on a Sunday morning I picked up the microphone, said "Good Morning Central Park" and the rest is history. 

It's been a fabulous ride and I look forward to welcoming more athletes to the Starting Line for years to come!
